About Michelle, Holistic Chef and Ayur-Yogi
In my recent 'past life', I was a singing, dancing actress in New York. Somehow, things just never felt quite right, and one day I decided to put everything on hold and work on my health and happiness. I wanted to feel like I was being true to myself, and to really enjoy my body instead of being always uncomfortable. Poor sleep, mood and energy swings, skin and digestive problems, weight fluctuations and other health problems were getting old and there had to be a better way of living. A friend recommended "Perfect Health" by Deepak Chopra and "The Ayurvedic Cookbook" by Amadea Morningstar & Urmila Desai. Ayurvedic cooking, lifestyle and yoga became hobbies and tools for self-improvement and better health. It was soon clear that these were more than just hobbies, and after a couple of years, I was off to New Mexico to study at The Ayurvedic Institute with Dr. Lad, the world's foremost Ayurvedic physician. In 2007 I graduated as a certified Ayurvedic Diet & Lifestyle Consultant and Yoga Teacher.
Since completion of her training, Michelle has sold out cooking classes in the USA and UK on a variety of topics, from Ayurvedic nutrition and detoxing, to conscious eating or gluten/dairy free baking and dessert. I have been featured in Mosaic and Tree of Life Magazines and work with individuals, families and groups in my classes, health consultations and 'Cooking for Life' evenings. I also give talks on a variety of health topics.
As a yoga teacher, I've worked with groups as large as 45 or as small as one, teaching fellow yogis how to tailor their practises to their body types and unique needs for vitality. I work with a range of clients, from secondary students to top business professionals. I help others to promote and maintain vitality, energy and natural beauty with yoga, nutrition and cooking.
